Hello All,

Thursday was my first day after passing the Pennsylvania exam. I was asked to provide my "floor time" availability. I guess a few hours in the morning is best?? Anyway, that's what I put down not knowing what else to do. I wanted the afternoons free to market, shadow my broker and eh...play tennis.

I guess my question is what are the best work times and activity schedules for those driven to succeed? Is there a winning formula or is it hit or miss?

Thanks,

Rob

Being a new realtor I understand your concerns. Speaking for myself I learned quickly to work whatever is good for you. The goal is to stay focus and spend time in building your business but do the things that make you happy. Congratulations and just be patient, things will workout for you. One goal that I try to achieve is to handout at least five or more business cards a day. Let everyone you come into contact with know that you are a realtor because no one else will. :o

There is a great training that Keller Williams has for new agents and it is geared to get the new agent 4 listings and 4 sales in 3 months.

The daily goals for the agents are:

- collect 10 business cards
- Make 5 phone calls
- Send 5 personal notes
- Preview 5 homes

On top of this you are in class 5 days a week for 2 hours and have other daily homework assignments. If you actually followed the training you would easily do the 4 listings and 4 sales. Problem is most agents are to worried about acting busy.

Do you have more information about this class and can one look into taking this course? It sounds interesting but would like more details.

For the most part you would have to be a KW agent already. In some casese they might let you take it before that. e-mail me if you would want to talk to someone at the closet KW office, I'll get you the info.

This is the secret passed down from sales guru to students from time immemorial. It is not a joke. It is not a dirty picture. Because it looks like it might be a dirty picture, you'll remember the lesson. Worry about it a few days, then get back to me. If it was "easy", then it wouldn't be worth the effort, would it?

I got it from somewhere, but I cannot remember exactly where. I always remembered the picture, though, so I recreated it. Whenever I needed to get back on track, I remembered the lesson. Others of you probably know it, too.

I have been around the block and saw this years ago, but for the life of me, can't remember what it means. I am sure however, I could use this advise sometimes...especially in this business where it is so easy to get sidetracked.

It probably wouldn't work for a web guy, at least not without adaptation. It is mostly for sales folks, like real estate agents, loan officers, insurance salesman, or anyone who sells to the public.

If you don't do anything else in a day, that is the one thing you do. TTTPBTBED. The secret to success.

Thanks for the heads up and I asure you that my motivation and can do attitude is intact. Being a top recuriter for the Coast Guard and working from 5 am until has taught me a great deal. However my time is limited until I come aboard full time in August before I will be able to impliment this into my daily routine. I will attack the my business with the same drive to achieve my goals. As I always tell my fellow recruiters "step aside if you're not serious!":D

My advice...

Build relationships. That's the key to a long lasting referral-based business.

Good luck!

I had seen this back when I took my GRI classes in the early 90’s and have not seen it since. Funny how Real Estate tips come back in cycle. Talking to ten people face to face about Real Estate is great advice.

I'm sure I saw it sometime in the eighties or so and pretty certain it came from Zig Ziglar, or that Champions guy, or one of those big sales gurus of the era.
