As most of you know, my wife and I had a baby boy in November of last year. As we are both in our 40's, Matthew will most likely be our only child.

Last week one of my local SEO/design clients asked me to stop by her office to "sign some papers" and go over a new print media marketing campaign that we were developing for her.

What surprised me was the papers that she asked me to sign - she and her husband started a 529 college investment account for my son! Not only did they make an generous opening contribution, they also pledged to keep funding the account until he goes to college. I don't mind telling you that I was so overwhelmed I broke down in tears.

My wife and I both do our best to help others when and where we can. We donate to items to others, donate to the Victory Junction Gang, and try to be decent people and live decent lives. But this gesture was just so overwhelming and unexpected I just wanted to share. With all of the "bad stuff" we see on the news every day, it's nice to share some good news.

That is great!

Very kind of them and kind of you to share the story.

Very cool.

We all enjoy validation of our work, of our life and all areas of life. Every so often, someone validates your efforts with a wonderful act of kindness. What a wonderful way to receive validation, giving a benfit to what is most important to you.

That is a great story Golf Guy. I think that sort of gesture and personal attention is rare to find these days. Sounds like you are working with some really good people and have a bond that goes beyond the workday. Thanks for sharing!
