Thanks to the EXPERTS at SiteTutor, my template site (www.georgiacoastal.com) ranks #5 for the term "savannah real estate" in Yahoo! I can't wait until I get my custom site (designed by them) up and running!
I've learned so much from them and from the forum.

Congratulations. Even if google rank are more important, a good Yahoo rank will provide succes with your website. Keep it at the same level and you will reach a rank good on google too.

I am a fan of pay per click. But also the organic part of the search engine generates plenty of buzz for me. I'm #3 on google organically, and that is huge for me during tax time.
Peace,
John
I did ppc for years and although I had pretty good results...I feel that organic results are far better and alot less expensive. If you know what your doing to get your site placed better, go organic, if you want instant gratificaiton, go ppc.
I decided to change my strategy and optimize around Google instead of yahoo. I have been a long time yahoo advocate, but yahoo traffic was just so so even on the first page...so now I am moving up the later in google for my key phrases...hope this works

The custom website will make a big difference. You will see a jump once that gets going. Keep working on the links and you will keep moving up.

Optimizing for 3 different search engines can drive anyone crazy. It's difficult because what may work for one, may not work for the other at all.

Google certainly has the best traffic however I'm not sure how to optimize for google. Google optimization is my goal.

many write yahoo off, which I find hard to understand. I currently have around 10,000 visitors/month on one of my sites and about 30% off that traffic comes directly from yahoo. I am ranked in top 2 positions for most dallas real estate related terms right now. Yahoo seems to value relevant and fresh content that is updated regularly. Of course, it also helps to build backlinks and optimize pages around main keywords your are focusing.

Right now I have noticed I am dropping for some keywords in Y, holding in some, and moving up for 1 or 2.
All this while I really haven't touched the site itself but at the same time I am bouncing around in G but trending upward.
At one time I was a top 3 in Y but not a top 20 in G, now I'm just top 10 in Y most of the time and bouncing around the middle of the first page in G.
I only hope Y cathes back up with G beacuse I ain't doing nuttin to kill the serp in G. :)

My rankings have decreased for some keywords and increased for others as well here recently. yahoo seems to bounce around sometimes, but usually nothing dramatic unless you make some major changes to your site or get penalized. I rank much better in Yahoo than Google but Google still gives me 3X more traffic than yahoo
