Congratulations! Looks like you are on the right track.
Don't hold your breath for Google though. No matter who does your site, Google takes awhile to rank well.
Its true it takes a lot of work and dedication in order to achieve rankings in google, however we have a great site to work with and a great network of people in the forum with quality sites.

Congrats Sam!
You have a good looking site.
Take a look at my site and let me know if you want to do some kind of partner link (via site or blog).
Best of luck with Yahoo! and Google. I am in the beginning of the same fight for rankings as you are!

Sam,
That's fantastic! Can you give me any tips? I just recently launched my website. How did you get your site so high in MSN so quickly?

Msn gives ranking to the newly launched websites .With time you will oose this rank and i am sure it's will be very difficult to get ranked up on google so fast.
To get there just be patient.
Best of luck

Yea, no sandbox whatsoever for MSN. Only thing is, what gets you ranked high in MSN often won't allow you to rank high in Google. I know that's a generalization, but MSN has no penalty for lack of content. I have the #1 spot for a certain keyword and what comes up is a very simple page with only one image that I use to load into my inline frame. Not the best page to convert visitors into leads!

Great news. I have always thought that MSN will allow you to rank rather quickly and have found that over time you can rank in all of the search engines if you keep working at it.

That's great news. Let's see if it sustains since MSN's algorithm is pretty wacky at times.

Well done, now Yahoo then Google should follow suit.
Unfortunately MSN is the easiest of the three to get into due to its search algo being pretty simple (it loves metas and a few backlinks).
Why not check out a keyword research tool like the one at seobook.com (appologies i can't post the url currently until my 15th post) this will give you some indication of whether you're optimising your site towards the right keywords - ultimately theres no point in having a #1 position if nobody searches for that specific search term.
Best of luck.

Nice one, it is exciting when you have put in hardly any effort to get the results that you want, but lets face it - it is MSN!
I had the same kind of experience with google with one site, okay the keyword competition was very low, but without doing any work on a site I did a check and it came up number 1 after 1 month of submitting it!
So we found 20 more unpopular search terms and got to number one for all of them - now the site is flying high 2 years on for dozens of other searches.
Congrats! The hard work starts now !

Sam,
Your website does look good! We had similar success with MSN but most of the words weren't very competitive. I'm glad to hear it was your main keyword. How have your rankings come along for Yahoo and Google? Are you still ranking well in MSN or was the success from being a new site?
