I know that Yahoo backlinks have been all over the place in the past year, but has anyone noticed a HUGE drop in their Yahoo backlinks in the past couple of days?

Nope. Everything is pretty much the same.

Things seem to be back to normal now. One of my sites went from 4,000+ backlinks down to 32 on Y! the other day. The SERP's didn't change, though.
Today the BL's are back to normal.

I'm checking rankings and BLs pretty much on daily bases and haven't noticed anything like that. May be that's just me :)

I found a bunch of comments about it on DP and WMW. At least I now know that I wasn't seeing things :)

You know, I had the same thing happen to me. I was doing great, then all of a sudden I was down to 1. It has been very slowly moving back up, but it is nowhere compared to where it was.
I too have been following other threads re this. Very strange to me how all this works, but it is interesting to have the opportunity to learn about it.
Of course, this is all still very new to me, but fun nevertheless.

Yahoo has been acting funny as of late. One day I have 70,000 backlinks the next 45,000.

I really can't help but still think of Yahoo as this vindictive, tempermental thing. Is it still doing really funky things with backlinks (like this) and rankings on apparent whim?

I could not agree more with everyones frustrations and am not sure why or how. I am however doing some research on it and will get back if i come up with anything.

They got rid of directories and lots of other links that used to be on there.
Guess dont go for those type of links anymore.

Why bump a thread that was started in September 2005 - that has the most recent response to it from more than 1.5 years ago?

You weren't the person that bumped it, so the remark wasn't directed at you - it was directed at the person that actually bumped a several year old (dead) thread.
