Hi all, does anyone have any ideas on how to become unpenalized in Yahoo? I have been penalized for about six months. I think I have resolved all issues but cannot get any response from Yahoo.

Has anyone gone through this before?

try to avoid any black hat seo. If your site has any "unethical" practices remove them as fast as possible because as long as that content is there yahoo will never remove your site from being banned.

Yahoo is very aggressive at targeting what it considers to be link networks and link schemes. If you ever traded links with someone that asked you to exchange links with their 150 real estate web sites - and those sites are also linked together - Yahoo may have considered that a link network. As more of the same people respond to that seemingly easy way to add 100+ links, the link network grows even larger.

Hi, I just had my site put up like 2 months ago and now everytime I submit a post to this forum it links to my site. I am not even putting my site on here except for my screen name but that doesnt link to my site. The question is, will that cause me to be penalized if I have to many posts on here and if so what should I do to avoid it?

Not in my opinion. If anything, when you make several posts it will only count so many links for the forum. Yahoo is just no a stable engine, but at times I think it is becoming more stable.

I'm starting to suspect I'm being penalized by Yahoo - I've never ranked for any of my keywords in Yahoo although I rank in the top 10 for many kwds in Google. However, when I search for my URL, I'm #1 so I'm not completely sure - but what else could it be?

Yahoo has a complete algorithm overhaul since December. They have tried so hard to be the anti-Google that there results are poor in most sectors.

I think that search engine users have also noticed the poor results. Client sites that had #1 rankings for competitive KW's both before and after the algo change have seen a significant decrease year over year Yahoo traffic.

Good quality and clean seo practices are a must, they all seem to catch any black hat seo tactics if there is new things they will eventually catch on.

There are millions of sites out there that do not use any black hat techniques, but are still penalized or banned by Yahoo. Between human editing and Yahoo's crappy algorithm. sites are getting pinched. Sure, most of these sites don't deserve to rank in the top 100, but they don't deserve to be banned, either.
