Anything yet? A friend of mine said his took 7 months to be listed. How long did it take on any other sites you have if any were listed?

I have not heard anything from them yet. This is the first site I have tried to submit personally. I have had other sites in different industries that were accepted. It took about 6 months for one and bout 9 months for the other. I did not submit those personally so I don;t have any info for you on how they got excepted but I can tell you that the benefits were great. the page rank alone really helped out and the instant placement in the other top directories was a huge added bonus. we notice drastic climb in SEO rankings after we were accepted as well. I hope this helps. I will post more IF i hear from DMOZ.

Robert, it takes awhile to get listed on DMOZ, good luck if you have any luck, please share any additional steps you took to get on their directory.

I decided to submit mine yesterday. I have had it up since November of 2006 but I finally put a privacy policy, site map, and terms of service on it this year.
Most of my traffic is from 2 directories. I get about 20 calls a week and 5-10 applications.

Thanks for the information Greg. Please let us know which directories you are having luck with. You can DM me with them if you don't want your competitors to see.

So that means that I should forget about entering their "honest club". So much of the "free listings"...

You could be waiting a very long time, my friend. DMOZ is a disorganized mess. It's a roll of the dice as to whether anything will ever happen with your submission.

Only one thing is unclear to me... How come G takes them into consideration when they are so bad?
Usually when someone treats it's customers like s*it, eventually it will fail, and this is not the case. Maybe people should open a new and really "open directory" instead of upper mentioned circus.
Cheers

The service is good, but the people operating it are sometimes disshonest, as the human personality is often greedy... so that's the way life goes on... unfortunatelly

If I was owner of G, I would ban them for life  No one could behave in such manner and pass without a punishment on my search engine, no matter how good the job was.

Google gives them the power of a 3rd world country, so why not accept bribes and become one. I've try to get my site listed using the normal means.. so let see how long it will take.
What I don't understand is how come some sites have multiples listings?
