Wales gloomy over falling house prices
WELSH house prices fell 0.7% in the year to May, according to new data from the Land Registry, adding to the turbulence elsewhere in the economy.
The figures were released at the same time as the Office for National Statistics confirmed the UK economy grew more slowly than expected in the first three months of 2008, with growth just 0.3%.
The Land Registry said Welsh house prices rose by 0.6% between April and May this year, but prices were still 0.7% lower than in May 2007. The average Welsh home now costs
