Long story short, that corner (40th Street and Greenway) sold for a few million in the late 80's. So, even though it seemed like a lot of money at the time, he should have "bought" the corner lot instead of taking the cash and running.

Homes, lots, real estate in general always seems expensive when you are thinking in terms of the here and now. Think of the future...
Wow! Makes sense, totally, thanks for the story!

    L M A O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I apologize.

I am a happily married man, so I'm not looking for an invite. Thanks for thinking of me though.

Glad you got something out of my story. You should hear how many old timers tell me one similar to it. Many tell me, "I wish I would've bought three" when they find out how much I'm going to list their home for that they've lived in since 1960 or 1970... But then they all, always say "$7500 was a lot of money back then. We weren't sure how we were going to be able to make our mortgage payments" and so on.

    Take care!
